Sci-Fi fans can get back to nature by visiting State parks where Sci-Fi movies were filmed!

The ParksByNature Network has put together a fun list of four state parks where famous science fiction movies were filmed.  All of these state parks can still be visited and explored.

Red Rock Canyon State Park in Southern California, in close proximity to Los Angeles has been a filming location for numerous movies and TV shows, dating all the way back to The Mummy in 1932.  Since there are already multiple paleontology dig sites on the grounds, filming the dig scenes from the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park there was an easy choice. Another popular science fiction movie filmed there was Westworld.

Feel like you’re in the movies, check out the full list on the ParksByNature web-site.  The ParksByNature Network has also created a parks navigation app, Pocket Ranger®, which makes the “alien landscape” exploration super easy for the sci-fi fan in all of us!
