Winners announced for 25th Annual Harvey Awards at Baltimore Comic Con

The Harveys (named for pioneering comics artist & editor Harvey Kurtzman) recognize outstanding achievement in comics and are both nominated by and selected by comic book professionals.

NEW-HARVEY-LOGO-WEB-2012-2The 25th Annual Harvey Awards for 2013 were announced at the Baltimore Comic Con on Sept. 7th and it was all about Saga by Brian K. Vaughn & Fiona Staples from Image, it took home 6 Harvey Awards.   Marvel took home 3 awards for Best Cover artist (David Aja on Hawkeye), Best Inker (Klaus Janson on Captain America) and Most Promising New Talent (Dennis Hopeless on Avengers Arena).  IDW, Dark Horse and kaBoom! (the kids imprint from Boom! Studios) all received 2 awards.  Several other publishers received 1  award, a full listing of awards is listed below.

Best Graphic Album – Previously Published – Alien: The Illustrated Story (Titan)

Best Single Issue or Story – Saga #1 (Image)

Best Domestic Reprint Project – David Mazzucchelli’s Daredevil: Born Again Artist’s Edition (IDW)

Best American Edition of Foreign Material – Blacksad: A Silent Hell (Dark Horse)
