Neil Gibson Comics gives away comics in aftermath of Boston tragedy

The team from Neil Gibson Comics traveled from London to Boston planning to launch their new comics collection, Twisted Dark #1, at the Boston Comic Con on April 20-21.

The problem was that the Boston Comic Con was cancelled at the last minute (on April 19th), in the aftermath of the bombing at the Boston Marathon earlier in the week.

They were in the US, had all these comics and no convention, what to do? They announced that they would be giving their convention stock to the main comic book stores in Boston for free.

They started Saturday April 20th giving away free comics at Harvard Square, then delivered copies to Newbury Comics, The Million Year Picnic and New England Comics. They ended up at Davis Square’s Comicazi – signing at a table next to Bill Willingham, David Mack and Tim Sale!

Sunday April 21 they will be going to Comicopia (Commenwealth Avenue) with the last of their stock.
